Part of a balanced load.
My buddy Erik had pointed this device out to me a while back. It is essentially an electric inductive load balancer/line conditioner for your home. It contains an internal capacitor(s) which stores an electrical charge so that upon startup of any appliance or device in your home that contains a motor the electricity is quickly available from the power save device which reduces a heavy draw from your external power line. Think of it this way, when you drive your car and accelerate to to get up to speed it uses a lot more fuel to get up to the desired speed than it does to maintain a steady speed. Appliance motors in your home work very much the same way. When they start up they draw a lot of power which results in your power meter spinning faster and you getting charged more. That power used to spin the motor up is wasted. You are charged for it but you gain no direct benefit from it until it is running at a steady rate. I bought the Power-Save 1200™ from the Power Save corporation. There are a lot of similar devices sold on the internet however I decided this was the one to go with as it has received great reviews and is quite affordable at $300. I have a very limited amount of breakers on my 100 amp breaker box so I had to combine a couple of outlets which were on their own circuits. Once I had done that, with Erik’s assistance I attached the unit to the wall, connected the wires to a new dedicated 20 amp 220 volt breaker, wired the ground and inserted the breaker into the box where the two individual 20 amp 110 volt breakers had been.
Here’s the breaker box before.

The green circled area is where the two previous outlet wires came into the breaker panel. The blue circled area is where the two hot wires connected to each of the individual 20 amp 110 volt breakers.
Here is the Power Save unit mounted below the circuit breaker panel and wired in. The orange light indicates it is functioning properly.

With any luck this $300 purchase will reduce my monthly electric bill by 10-25%! I will post back results beginning next month.
