I’ve picked my pony.
Sunday, January 6th, 2008In the past I haven’t gone way out there to stand behind a presidential candidate. But after the last couple of “elections” I made a firm decision to take a good serious look at potential candidates for the ‘08 election and make sure I knew early on what they really stood for. This way if what they stood for changed significantly from what they stood for much earlier on I could probably write that candidate off as a typical douchebag politician. I have fallen for and voted for those in the past; not again thank you very much. One particular candidate who caught my interest early last year was Ron Paul. Now Ron is a Republican. I consider myself to be somewhat liberally minded but not the type the evil tv and newspaper syndication has used to reference democrats. Rather, I think of change for the better, or improvement upon existing processes and establishments when the word liberal is mentioned. Just a few of a number of points that made me decide that Ron is the guy who I would vote for: He voted against the Patriot Act. Attaching the word Patriot to this bill in my opinion is the equivalent of pissing on the American flag. He voted against the war in Iraq. I prefer to refer to this as the invasion of Iraq. Yes we did finally remove the evil dictator that we put into power in the first place however ask yourself: Was it worth the cost of thousands of American lives? And one more reason. Ron believes what I had always thought should be a reality. Limited federal government. Take a look for yourself and get educated before it’s time to vote.
