This year my pretty little Mrs. and I decided that we would forgo buying each other any typical gifts for Christmas and decided to buy a Nintendo Wii as we have heard such great things about them. Also since we always loved the original NES and learned that the Wii not only plays Wii games but also has a built in emulator to play the original NES, N64 and a number of other platforms games. Wifi connectivity, wireless remotes and a bunch of other great features. So, I started looking for the console this weekend. Since it is the decided IT game system this year no one had them. Well, that’s not exactly true. Lot’s of people had bought up all that were available through retail chains and listed them for sale on Ebay for $400 to $600 per console. Well today I happened to be out to buy some caulk and decided to stop by Target to see if I might be able to get a rain check or find out when they expected to get another shipment. Low and behold they had received a shipment of 20 this morning so I got one while they had 6 remaining. Yay. So far it lives up to all the hype. It is easy to use, has loads of options and fun games that don’t require you to read a small book introduction before actually being able to play a game.

Finally, a store run by robots.

Robot
“The store will offer grocery items like milk, soda and frozen pizzas, and be run by robots and conveyor belts.” I read this a few weeks back and after driving by the site where the store is being built I felt it was necessary to make a post about it for my fellow citizens. First we ship our dangerous and undesirable manufacturing jobs to developing nations, now we have robots manning our local convenience stores! What’s next? Will our beloved cows be milked by robots too?! Mark my word, I will be following this one closely.

Once this year. I think our dead friends are getting bored with us.

For those of you that may have read, our house has extra occupants that came with it. They have been pretty quiet this year, in fact neither my wife nor I have heard or seen anything out of the ordinary this year at all. Until today. I heard nothing as I was sound asleep however my pretty little Mrs. did. Read here. As we have deduced, our upstairs seems to be a fairly active area of the house for our guests. Read through the journal, I think you’ll agree.

Bravissimo. (Probably not work friendly)

One of so many Monty Python sketches that make the troupe so endearing.

Liked that? Well this one is better. In fact it is my all time favorite sketch because frankly I have a rather morbid sense of humor. Unfortunately the embed function is not enabled so you actually have to (sigh) go to YouTube to view it.
