Cock.

I couldn’t help it. Now my site is sure to be blocked by corporate firewalls everywhere.
Chick
Ah yes, back to the point. I of course am talking about chickens. Not even male chickens (roosters) as the title misleads you, but hens rather. My wife and I like our house quite a bit and are pleased with the location. We can both walk to work (apprx. 6 blocks), have a nice back yard and it has all the quirks and charm of the typical century+ year old house. Something I have always wished I could have are chickens. Mainly for the fresh egg factor. My beautiful little wife and I are quite fond of eggs; in particular the organic, fresh variety. So after a few Google searches I discovered that another individual here in town had already done the leg work for me. Apparently the city will allow up to 4 laying hens providing the owner meets the necessary shelter and property line requirements. So, I’m shooting for this next Spring to buy 2-3 hens. I may get them from my uncle or my wifes uncle. First I need to build a shelter for them. Of course I will post all the proceedings up here. In the mean time here are a couple fun sites to check out if you should decide to do the same.

…and yes Brendan, the entire time I was typing this post all I could think of is that damn Adam Sandler song.

Excuse me? Who’s gas free?

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

I have have seen just about enough commercials from GM where they tout their “gas friendly” vehicles. “From Gas Friendly to Gas Free” Really? None of your gas free vehicles are actually available for purchase by any average consumer. You used to have a gas free vehicle but crushed them when one of the largest US states dropped the mandate which required automakers to sell or lease a minimum number of vehicles with zero emissions. eg: Electric cars. So here we are, 34 years after a major oil shortage and on the verge of another yet the vast majority of new vehicles don’t get much better gas mileage than they did back then. Here’s to progress.
