Awww, but I don’t want to pull weeds.

Monday, April 30th, 2007

However, pulling weeds to ferment them makes it only half as bad. Especially if it is to turn them into wine as is the case here.

After years of these pesky things growing in my yard I figure it is only fair that I get something in return. So begins my first attempt at Dandelion wine.

Full on fermentation is under way. Could be a month, or 3+. At this place I can only wait to see.

All trimmed up.

Well, I finally have all the trim installed under the cabinets of our kitchen. Now all that is left on the agenda is a small area of paint on the walls and a tin ceiling to match the foyeur. But that will come later.

I installed little squares of the Sahara Desert in my kitchen this weekend how about you?

In another of many steps toward completing our impromptu kitchen remodeling; I finally had a chance to install the small 4″ tiles underneath the counters which I bought online. My wife wants a sort of French Country theme in the kitchen so after searching every home improvement store in town I finally found some nice looking tiles on Amazon. You may be asking yourself what this has to do with the Sahara Desert. Well, the tiles are imported from Tunisia which is a country in North Africa and has a good percentage of it’s area covered by the Sahara. The tiles appear to be made of a brownish sand which I’m assuming is from the local region. Interestingly, the country happens to have a history of French control and influence which explains why the tiles match the theme we are trying to accomplish. That’s your short geography lesson for the day kids.
